print work to go alongside
I made this cut out based on the doily (a decorative placemat). This design would be cut out using a laser instead of being handcut and taking someone 9 hours like it did for me! This would then work as a poster to be displayed for people to see.
"What a load of rubbish!"
My final outcome for my project.
I achieved this by creating cut outs and gluing them inside packaging that we often gain a lot of at Christmas such as perfume boxes, food containers and jewellery boxes.

at long last !
I know I have posted on here in forever so I will quickly get you up to date with what I have been doing. I started a project back in September which I decided to base on recycling and how we waste so much packaging at Christmas. I started off with looking at paper cut outs and developed my idea from there. Here are some works I did in my sketchbook before I started working in 3D.
I created the above from paper and the letting below using foil from a biscuit wrapper.
The image below was an idea I had of cutting directly into flat dry leaves. I later discarded this idea because it would be too hard to do and did not bear a lot of relevance to Christmas.
I then started looking at paper cuts inside of packaging and below were my experiments.
